stone gables

This South Island inspired home uses heavily bagged Otago schist stone, sustainably grown Western Red Cedar cladding and large expanses of glazing to create a stunning contemporary home with traditional touches reminiscent of the stone farmhouses of old. The stone parapet walls, hardwood lintels and boxed chimneys provide a strong silhouette and add to the permanence and substantial feel of this intergenerational family home.

Situated in the hills surround Cambridge the interconnecting pods are stepped down the sloping site, following the contours of the land and making the most of the hilltop and river views afforded by the home’s elevated position.

This house is one to watch out for and photos will follow once it has been fully completed.
